Adapting an existing industrial facility to house a new K-8 charter school required demolition of a portion of the existing building, gut rehabilitation of the remaining 6-story building and construction of a new 6-story addition. The completed facility is approximately 100,000 SF of modern classroom space, gymnasium, library, science room, art room, kitchen and cafeteria. The building is fully air conditioned, and was fitted with a boiler plant for space heating, automatic sprinklers and a state-of-the-art fire detection and alarm system.
