Viacom Data Center MEP Upgrades

Phase 2 Data Center MEP Upgrades at the New Jersey facility included the addition of a 25-ton computer room air conditioning (CAC) unit and the addition of return air plenums on the existing CAC units with associated automatic dampers to draw the return air from the ceiling plenum.

The scope of the project also included the engineering of a dry cooler system and associated distribution piping, pumping, electrical power to provide a redundant heat rejection option to the existing closed-circuit coolers for five new CAC units and future CAC units. Electrically operated motorized valves were provided to automatically transfer from the condenser water supply to the dry coolers.

The Data Center is fully operational 24 hours per day and 7 days per week and remained operational during the upgrade period. Monitoring and control of the new Data Center related equipment and the existing base building equipment was interfaced with the BMS system.
