A Job Well Done
Callicoon, NYUS Department of Labor, Job Corp Centers
The conversion of a landmarked turn-of-the-century, stone-walled monastery in Sullivan County, NY, into the Delaware Valley Job Corp Center required general rehabilitation, space reallocation and upgrades to its HVAC systems. In use as an academic institution, the work had to be phased while the facility remained operational.
The MEP scope was to air condition the main building and a cafeteria located in an adjacent structure. Collado provided two feasible alternative systems for review, recommending and implementing a very different approach from what the client had originally envisioned, which simplified construction and resulted in a lower installation cost.
