A Pipeline of Innovative Ideas

The Walter Gladwin Recreation Center, located along Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, will serve as a vibrant community destination offering fitness, arts, media, and continuing education programs. The 36,000-square-foot facility includes classrooms, multipurpose spaces, and a full-size basketball court with an upper-level track.

Collado Engineering provided HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm design services, supporting the City’s and State’s energy and carbon reduction goals while targeting LEED Gold certification. Our scope included the design of electrical service, switchgear, and distribution systems for all building equipment, lighting, and receptacles, as well as rooftop photovoltaic panels that enhance energy performance. The HVAC systems deliver efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation, managed through an advanced Building Management System (BMS). We also designed the fire alarm and life safety systems, including emergency lighting, exit signage, and monitoring devices.
