Where Training Takes Shape
Garden City, NJ
Nassau County Police Department Training Village
The Nassau County Police Department Training Village will be a training facility in Garden City, New York designed to look and function like a neighborhood consisting of ten mock buildings including a school, precinct, church, restaurant, bank, and homes. Located adjacent to the Nassau County Police Department Center for Training and Intelligence, the new training village totals approximately 27,000 sq ft.
Collado Engineering (CE) is providing consulting engineering services for the design of mechanical and electrical systems including building lighting and associated controls, HVAC, storm drainage, and fire alarm systems.
The air conditioning is supplied through either packaged systems or split systems with electric heat and electric service extended from the NCPD Center for Training and Intelligence located adjacent to the training village. All buildings were outfitted with cameras to allow the officers to review their training exercises and CE designed an overhead utility poles system for power and telephone to mimic a real neighborhood setting.
