Christopher (Chris) Mias is responsible for the management and development of the mechanical department as a Principal and Senior Mechanical Engineer. Additionally, he oversees the firm’s energy and sustainability division, leading engineers across multiple trades in focusing on energy-use policy, sustainability, and high performing systems.
In his 10 years in the industry, Chris has become familiar with all aspects of MEP engineering specializing mainly in the latest HVAC heat pump technologies and energy saving design approaches. He has provided innovative and integrated designs for a variety of market sectors including schools, restaurants, commercial fit-outs, high-end residential, and ground-up apartment buildings, both low- and high-rise.
Chris participated in the 2020 NYC Energy Code Advisory Committee, Residential Chapter, providing feedback and recommendations for the code revision. He has also lectured on the subject for the NYS Association of Towns and for the Urban Green Council’s “What’s New in the Energy Code?” lecture series, and he is currently participating on the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s 2023 NYStretch Code.
